Home Sweet Home! YWAM Base, Chiang Rai, Thailand.
Here are some pics of where we are living…
- This is the YWAM Base in Chiang Rai, this is the building for dining/social activities/cafe/and anything else…Table Tennis!
- These are the rooms we are staying in, our room is down the bottom in the front, behind the grass roof.
- Our front verandah, with the lovely Miriam!
- Our bed, which is really huge and the luxury of a wardrobe!
- Timothy’s bed
- All of our stuff in little cubes. Pink for the Girls, blue for the Boys.
- Timothy watching POCOYO, a cartoon we download of the internet. The base has wireless which is nice to be able to get out of our room when he’s asleep.
- Inside our front door… very patriotic!
- Timothy loves having a bath outside, the tub’s just his size.
- We celebrated Australia Thailand style, we had fish and chips and burgers for tea at a Aussie/Thai restaurant. It was really nice and we shared it with quite a few other Aussies.
- Scooters everywhere! This is like the motor bike we would like to get, you can fit a family of five on one of these little beauties! or a large dog as we saw the other day going into the city, impressive!
- Matt has taken over the YWAM Base’s shed, he’s cleaned it out and had fun fighting off all the ants.
We’ve enjoyed just relaxing and getting used to everything in the past week, but we are both looking forward to starting the course, the days can really drag here if you don’t have transport and nothing to do. Timothy is fairly settled and is going to “School” day care for a half day all week so we can both sit through lectures. Timothy enjoys the freedom of sitting in the back of a “Sawngtau”, a Ute with two rows of seats in the back, as he doesn’t have the restraint of a child seat.
Look forward to getting more pics and info out soon, Matt will go for his motorbike licsense next week sometime, it’s only like a couple of hundred Baht, $8-12 AUD, wish it was that much in Australia… Missing Iced Coffee already.
